Traveling alone as a woman can seem daunting as a concept for most woman – at first! However, once I’ve done it a few times, it’s just like doing anything else in life. The more practice and experience you have with it, the better you can structure your future trips so you feel more comfortable each time!

Benefits of Traveling Solo:

  1. FREEDOM. You get to choose your schedule and places to go! You have the power to decide your activities, your timing, and the ultimate freedom of DECISION-MAKING! You can go to bed late, sleep-in, explore at your leisure, and eat whatever you want! Unless, of course, you are on a tour group, which also has a lot of wonderful benefits when traveling alone.
  2. MAKE NEW FRIENDS. As a solo traveler, I’ve made way more friends than when I traveled with someone I know. When alone, you are much more likely to talk to strangers and make friends with people on your tour groups!
  3. GUILT-LESS DECISIONS ON A TOUR GROUP. If I am on a tour group and there are downtime, you can decide how you want to spend that time without worrying or even factoring a travel partner. You can take a nap! You can go explore! Go check emails! Go check out a store you otherwise would not have with someone else!
  4. LEARN TO BE STREET SMART. As a solo traveler, you learn to pay attention to your surroundings more. You are more likely to do way more research ahead of time when traveling alone than if you are with friends or a group.
  5. SELF-CONFIDENCE. You gain more self-confidence once you’ve learned how to navigate through different countries alone. Once I’ve gone to several countries as a solo female traveler, I learned that I can figure out probably any country alone, as long as I do my research and don’t be an idiot. Just like any skill in life, navigating travel in various countries alone is a skill set. And you are more likely to travel MORE if you feel confident in your skills!
