The Seven Wonders of the World is technically also known as the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. These are 7 notable structures from the Classical Period, dating back to 2nd-1st century B.C. The only remaining structure from this Seven Ancient List are the Pyramids of Giza, as the rest have been destroyed.
In 2001, the New7Wonders Foundation decided to come up with a new list of Seven Wonders of the World through an online voting system. More than 100 million votes were casted, and these are the 7 New Wonders of the World. For some reason, the Pyramids were not one of the winners, so it was added as an honorary candidate. So when I tell people about my bucket list travel, I tell them I’m visiting “7+1 Wonders of the World”.
These are the 7 + 1 Wonder of the World List:
⭐ Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
⭐ Machu Picchu, Peru
⭐ Colosseum, Italy
⭐ Taj Mahal, India
⭐ Chichen Itza, Mexico
⭐ Great Wall of China, China
⭐ Petra, Jordan
